Mining
Introduction
Mining governs a user’s ability to locate, extract, and process valuable ores, gems, and other underground resources. Skill level directly impacts extraction speed, the likelihood of rare finds, and the risk of triggering dangerous collapses.
Mining ranges from Level -10 to 20, supporting both untrained penalties and expert-level mastery. At low levels, mining is slow, unsafe, and may trigger collapses, while high levels enable quick, precise, and risk-free extraction.
How It Works
⛏️ Collapse Chance
This is the flat probability of a mine collapse occurring per mining action.
Collapse chance is not influenced by ore type, rarity, or environment — only by the miner’s skill level.
Max collapse chance is 5% at the lowest skill levels.
The collapse chance decreases with higher skill until Level 10, where it becomes 0%.
🕒 Extraction Time Formula
Mining takes time to complete, which is modified by your skill level:
Final Time = Base Seconds × Time Modifier
Example: A 20-second mining action with a +50% time modifier:
20 × 1.5 = 30 Seconds
Level -10 = +100% time (twice as long)
Level 0 = +50% time
Level 10 = -50% time
Level 20 = -75% time
💎 Rare Find Chance Formula
Determines the likelihood of discovering rare ores, gems, or unique materials during mining:
Final Chance = Base × Multiplier + Base
Example: Base 5% with a +40% multiplier:
5% × 0.40 + 5% = 7%
Level 0 = 0% bonus
Level 10 = +15% bonus
Higher levels increase rare finds significantly, while negative levels reduce them.
